I caught my hubby…

Rainbow
Thursday, August 5th, 201024 of July 2010. I did not quite get a good sleep last night because of two reasons. One, it was pouring so hard that you could hear the wind blowing against the glass windows, with all the lightning and the loud thunder. And two, I was too uneasy knowing that when I wake up the next morning, I’ll be taking the road test.
It’s been raining since yesterday afternoon but the temperature is still as hot as the summer heat. Actually, it is still summer. The State of IL has four seasons; and it’s just about a month since it officially turned summer. Unlike in Pinas, where summer means scant of rain; it’s totally different here. Summer means hot weather, regardless of whether it rains or not. Anyway, during the summer season, there are high chances of tornado formation. The people are more on the ball because some tornadoes may come without a warning… Or if it does, it’s already too late. So, this kind of weather really shouldn’t be underestimated.
I woke up at 6:30 am. It was still pouring outside. I turned the TV on and switched to TFC. That’s our morning indulgence. Wowowee. Oh crap! I thought to myself… I was expecting that Showtime is already on at this hour. Well, I thought maybe Wowowee extended their hour of showing and there’s nothing I could do but wait for that it to end. I glanced at the wall clock from time to time; glanced at the light coming in from the window and started thinking again. Why has the sun not come out yet? If Showtime starts at 6:20 am, Wowowee has extended from it’s usual time slot, and the clock’s moving, then why is it still dark outside? I know it’s raining but… Holy crap!!! I was wrong! I thought I woke up at 6:30am, but NO… I woke up an hour earlier! what was wrong with my eyes?! Aaarrghhh! Now I can’t go back to sleep! I’ve wasted my time then watching that super lame show…
And so it was 6:30am..the real one, that is. Made coffee for hubby and me, then took a nice warm bath. My husband was so anxious that we won’t get at DMV office on time. He’s always like that! When it involves me, he’s always anxious and he stresses me out! Haha! I said, “Please!!! It’s only 7:30, DMV won’t open until 8am, pano tayo male-late?!!” And oh yeah, I was right. 8am DMV opens, people gathered inside and were already forming lines.
And so my name was called. I had a lady rater. Her name’s Anna. She’s pretty and it seemed to me that she’s of Mexican-African descent. She spoke Spanish. We went out and walked to the car. She checked my signal lights, headlights, and break lights. I fixed my seat, rear view mirror, and side mirrors. She asked me to back up and start running. It was still sprinkling that morning. The wind was a bit cold. My hands are also a bit shaky. I was nervous, who wouldn’t? Speed limits are way different here. She asked me to turn right at the first traffic light. The road I turned to was having some repairs. The rater instructed me to change lanes because we were coming into a one lane roadway. I checked my left blind spot and there was a car. I signaled left and good thing the car slowed down for me. I quickly changed lanes so he won’t fall short. I panicked for a second there because I was running 35mph. I went on and saw a 30mph sign ahead. Woah! That quick! I had to ease up on the gas pedal to slow down, 5mph less. She then instructed me to turn right at the next corner; asked me to park at the road side going uphill; stopped at 4 stop signs; turned left and went on, speed limits changing at an instant; drove down a school zone at 20mph speed that felt like driving a funeral car; after the school zone, I speeded up again following the sign boards to 25mph -> 30mph. And there I encountered an uphill roadway again. My car slowed down! And Anna said, “you have to keep up to the speed limit”. I should be running 30 but when I checked my speedometer, lo and behold I was at 25mph! Oh shoot! Press on the gas, stupid! Argh! So I kept driving… I was asked to turn left at the alley after a church, stop after the walkway, then back up and drive straight past another stop sign. I stopped at the next stop sign, went on again, turned right and voila! The sign said 40mph. Then she asked me to turn right at the next traffic light. I stopped the car on a red light; checked my mirrors and saw a build up of 4 or 5 cars behind me. And then Anna said I can proceed right when it’s safe. The speed limit was 5mph faster on the next highway. Woooh! I was lucky to be driving on a wet road because very few cars were passing. I was asked to turn right on the next traffic light and we’re back at the DMV office. I was still shaking. I parked the car a few feet from the front of the building. Anna said, “You did wonderful!” I replied, “I don’t know… I just… Oh.. I don’t really know…” I didn’t know what to say… I had a feeling that I wouldn’t make it. But Anna was smiling at me; a very beautiful smile, as beautiful as her face. “You passed!” I was astonished! The only word that came out of my mouth was, “Seriously?!!!” “Yeah! You were able to keep up to the speed limit and that’s what’s important” With ice cold trembling hands, I shook her hand; I was grateful! We got out of the car and was still talking. I saw my husband in front of the DMV office, patiently waiting for me. He was looking at us as we approached the entrance door. He was thinking that I failed just as he did the first time he took the driving exam. But he heard the majic words from Anna, “Let’s go inside so they can take a photo of you…”
Well, as the goes, there’s a rainbow always after the rain….
Thank you, Lord…

Arts 101: Needlework
Thursday, June 3rd, 2010Ever since I was a kid, I’ve embraced Arts like my own; I’d say the subject, Art, was one of my favorites. When I mean Arts, I mean handcrafts, drawing, painting, photography, needlework, and theatre. I can’t say that I’m artistic because I admit, I’m not. But I’d say I have an affinity to arts and crafts.
Lately, to get myself free from stress due to some issues at work, I started crocheting again after 15 years. It’s a nice feeling to be working with Single Crochet, Double Crochet, Treble Crochet, Picot, etc.. once more. I learned this needlework back in Sixth grade. I was not a big fan but I thought it’ll be fun to know how to do it. Right now, I’m into making glass cozies. Here’s what it looks like so far…
On the side, I also knit but I think I need more passion for it so I could finish one project. Cross stitching, on the other hand, is very aristocratic. I like it although it’s a bit expensive.
My husband and I were taking a stroll at Walmart when I passed by the school supplies alley. And boy, I went crazy! This is what I really like about the US — you can find anything and almost everything being sold in stores. Everything that a lazy person would look for is in the market. Very convenient!

3 months down, 21 more months to go bago ako makalaya sa kamay ng mga berdugo hahahaha!!! Hay buhay…
Kosa! Inmate! Preso!
LORD! Kunin mo na sila! Nyahahahahaha!!! Anu ba yan….
cheesy moment…
Sunday, March 21st, 2010Cheesy moment was brought to you by Dos Equis - I don’t always drink beer; but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis… Stay thirsty, my friends.
Hahaha! =))
This afternoon, Nono and I cooked Creamy Tuna Fusilli Pasta for lunch.
Pasta is Nono’s cup of tea. In the kitchen, he’s the chef and I’m always the sous-chef. He prepares the sauce and I’m the one in-charge of the pasta. He knows I can make it incredibly al dente!
Anyway, while I was stirring the fusilli pasta, I uttered, ” Mahal na mahal kita, Mahal, alam mo ba yon? I can’t live my life without you…” He smiled and said, “Mahal na mahal din kita, Mister Puti, even though you scold me, I’m still crazy over you…”
Bwahahahahahahaha!!!!! =)) We burst into laughter and hugged each other. I didn’t know he’d say that! I didn’t scold him… Sometimes, he could be so childlike and would make silly remarks like that! He would even call me Mister Puti, which, according to him, is a term of endearment; it’s more, to me, embarrassing than endearing… Hahaha!
What a nice way to carry through the day. =)
Las Chicas
Saturday, March 20th, 2010Early in 2009, I met these gorgeous ladies online. Each one of them is unique in their own way that makes me proud to have known them
KISSY* - a cool, rational, facscinating, and eloquent young woman, who carries herself well. Mess with her, or you’ll see what you’ll looking for. LOL!
DHEY* - my twin sister. She’s got a very lovely voice that makes Seraphims jealous to death. She’s a brilliant and dainty lady combined, who’s definitely one-of-a-kind!
KHARMINA* - this is a pseudonym that I have created by chance (because I thought, that’s Carmi’s real name). She makes me laugh every time we talk but when she gets serious, I listen; She’s 100% funny and 100% sensible.
MEI* - la niña rosa! The epitomy of wit and beauty, that’s what she is; no wonder a lot of guys run after her. However, my apologies, guys, she’s already taken.
*Nicknames used for security purposes. hehehe!
Although, I’ve met them only a few times, I LOVE THEM. Bow.
Name three things common to the 5 of us: Timer starts now…

infinity
Friday, March 19th, 2010What is a ring? According to dictionary.com, a ring is a noun; a typically circular band of metal or other durable material, especially one of gold or other precious metal, often set with gems, for wearing on the finger as an ornament, a token of betrothal or marriage, etc.
I would say, a ring is a symbol of infinity; no beginning and no end. A ring embodies the vow made by a couple to share their lives for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish until death tears them apart.
I don’t know what came to me but I’m feeling too inspired today so I’m posting these rings that are close to my heart…
The ring on the left is not really mine. I’m showing a representation of the very first ring that Nono gave me, which looks almost the same, however in my ring, the flippers of the juxtaposed dolphins are touching; and attached to these is the beak of the dolphin opposite them.
It was November 2001, while we were waiting for Physics 201 class to start. He handed me a black paper bag full of gifts for xmas. I took out a scented gel candle, a wallet from Marithé François Girbaud, a bottle of Victoria’s Secret Garden “Secret Crush” (which he said the name of the scent tells it all…) and a small velvetty box tied with a red silk ribbon. Surprised as I was, he opened it with trembling hands and said, “Sana magustuhan mo..” Oh yeah, you bet I really liked it! It was a li’l big for my ring finger so I wore it on my left thumb.
This is a puzzle ring. Again, not my ring but this looks exactly the same that I have, which was a gift from my best friend, Michelle. Michelle gave me the ring, as a birthday gift, in 2002. She knew that I love puzzles and mysteries so she thought that it might be a good idea if she’d give me something that would definitely make my mind busy… and yes, I became busy hahaha! It took me a day to figure out how to solve this hehe! I even had a fight with my, then, bf because I had not been replying to his text messages… yeah you know what I was doing, right?!.. hehehehe!
OK, let me show you my most favorite ring that almost everybody that I knew had admired. Another ring my dearly beloved gave me. It was October 2002; semestral break. Long before, Mahal and I dated, I had a dream about someone giving me a silver ring with a black gem. I didn’t know what it meant until I totally had forgotten all about it…
It was a nice sunny morning. I was in my bedroom, relaxing, and watching tv when my mobile phone vibrated. Ah! A text message from Mahal, saying, “mahal kita tayo sa rm mayang 11am i love u”
I replied, “baket mahal?” Then he said, “basta…”
And so I hurried to the bathroom, took a shower, put on my clothes, and went off to our school campus.
“Pikit ka muna…” yes, he actually said that, good thing we were the only ones in that place at that time. I did what he said and when I opened my eyes, he was holding an opened ring box that gave me a vision of my dream about a silver ring with a black stone. I could not believe what my eyes were seeing. I knew I dreamt of it a long time ago but I had never told it to someone nor had I shared it to him. He said that the first time he caught his eyes on this ring, he didn’t have second thoughts in getting it for me. Silver and Onyx, perfect! Tears streamed down my face… Coincidence? Could be.. Destiny? Hmm..Pwede!
Nono and I were taking a stroll at SM Centerpoint when we run into this kikay/accessories shop that sells mood rings. The photo on the right shows us the meaning of every color… This would be the cheapest and coolest ring we’ve bought just for fun…
This ring came from my cousin dear, whom I consider as one of my best friends. This was a hand-me-down rhodium-plated Swarovski ring with sparkling gems on it. I love how they glitter like diamonds… simply beautiful.
I bought this ring in July of 2009. Wala lang, I like it’s clarity of expression. This ring set down on my right index finger.
These are my simple yet wonderful treasures.
” My Precious!”

Happy 52nd Birthday sa Mommy ko hehehe! at babatiin ko ulit sya sa March 31 kase yun yung lagi nyang sine-celebrate… LOL!
Birthday Greetings!
Monday, March 15th, 2010Happy 26th birthday to you, Pekay, my ever dearest cousin!
I miss you and I love you! MOA! wahaha! ‘ika nga ni Keanna Reeves sa Showtime!
counting down the days…
Tuesday, March 9th, 2010I can’t seem to contain the happiness that I’m feeling right at this moment. Though this is a tough time, who cares? I am happy. We are happy. Period!
Funny how I’m in awe every morning I open my eyes and find my dearly beloved lies beside me; such an angel in disguise. Charming. Amiable. Stick-to-one. He would always tell me, “I am so lucky to have you…” but I would always answer, “I am luckier…” Indeed, I am.
I quote him, from one of his poems he’d written for me, “and if you’d ever leave, I’d find a million reasons to make you stay.”
I am not a perfect person; no one is. But I found someone who complements me and makes this imperfect person perfect. Someone who pulls me back together when I’m at a loss. Someone I direct back to path when he is lost.
Who would ever tell that I’d find him and he’d find me? This is not a fairytale; not a storybook; but it still remains a mystery in me. Through hell and high water, he’s there for me and I can never thank him enough for it. And, every night, in my prayers, I am grateful to above Almighty for giving me the best gift a girl could have.
And if he ever leaves me, I’d find a million reasons to make him stay…
weekend work
Sunday, March 7th, 2010It’s Sunday today and guess what?
What?
I just came home from work… Yes, you read it right! WORK! Haha! Nono and I had to work on a weekend to catch up for our day off tomorrow. What’s so nice about working on weekends is that, you don’t feel too stressed. It’s like everybody’s on a petix mode! I love it!
